Why would you leave. He gave you food and pop. Also, he is offering you a ride. You would only do that if he was a vampire but those don’t exsist.
(Challenging the Text)
How would you feel if someone ran of with your car after you gave them food, pop, and a free ride?
offended but bud did think that he was a vampire, its stupid but if you think someone is threatening your life than whatever nice things they did for you gets thrown out the window
DeleteNevaeh Floyd
DeleteI would get it. I mean if someone just had a box of blood in the backseat of their car I would have probably been freaked out too. No matter what age I was.

DeleteI would first scream, then case him for a while, then call the police. I would also feel really mad and I would punch a wall for a while.
Not chase them, they could hit me. I would just call the police.

ReplyDeleteI took the book back to my table. I didn't want to tell her that I wasn't really interested in history, it was just that the best gory pictures in the world came from the Civil War. And this book was full of them. It really was a great book.
So he came in here as a six year old that liked to read civil war books because of gore and he is continuing his hobby of gore while he is 10
how do you get a love of gore when youre six i mean i love five nights at freddy´s and that has one of the most morbid and goriest lore but still i got into that when i was 11 not 6

ReplyDeletë ̈The man said, "Where's home, Bud?"

Don't ́t tell a complete stranger where your home is! Even though you don't have one.

ReplyDelete“And I’ma tell you, I’ve seen some things out of place before and a young brown-skinned boy walking along the road just outside of Owosso, Michigan, at two-thirty in the morning.” (99)
Let me break this down for ya. This means that Bud is walking along a dirt road at 2:30 A.M. and almost gets hit by a car. Then the man says that their just outside Owosso, Michigan. Bud is living the life.
How would you answer this situation
If I was walking around at 2:30 in the morning I would have been very tired because I wouldn't have any root beer to wake me up. Therefore, I wouldn't be able to answer to the situation because I would have gotten hit by the car.

ReplyDelete“I got to the food line in plenty of time, but my pretend family wasn’t anywhere around…. Finally I saw people going into the library”(Curtis 88) -Setting (The Mission again and then the library)
It seems that Bud is now very aware of time. Maybe he actually woke up early this time, so he could be one of the first people in line. This seems to not be that important to him until after he has an encounter with the man who was about to hit him with the whip in the mission line before. People are sometimes like this when they know how to handle a situation instead of being unprepared and confused. “I had to eat by myself, without the brown sugar.”(Curtis 88) (Extending the Meaning)
If you weren't prepared for a situation that involved some very logical thinking, how would you handle the situation?
P15 Carson Hansen Mrs. Holley Prediction
ReplyDelete¨I pulled the gear lever down and the car took off with the vampire running as hard as he could to catch me. Wow! If I kept things like this up I would knock Baby Face Nelson off the FBI's ten most wanted list ̈ (Curtis 107)!
I have a prediction to make! I have a feeling that the man (vampire, sure, not) is going to find Bud and demand his car back. Soon Bud will also learn that he was just someone who worked at the hospital, because they kind of have to have human blood with them! So that if someone is bleeding out on the side of the road they have blood to give him, it is just his job! Once Bud learns this he is first of all he is blown away, second off he is also going to realize that he needs to think like a normal person. In the end he is going to learn that the guy in the car is really a friend of his father ́s. Bud really stop jumping to conclusions, Buddy… haha.
Making a Prediction.
Have you ever just jumped to a conclusions?
Yeah a whole lot of the time
DeleteP15 Holley Howard, Savannah (Extending the meaning)
ReplyDelete“On the side of the box some big red letters said as clear as anything, Urgent: Contains human blood!!!...The only kind of people who would carry human blood around in a car were vampires!” (106)
I thought Bud was smart. Obviously he is not a vampire, because vampires aren't real. The only reason he should be carrying around human blood is to give it to a hospital. Unless that man is a psychopath, I don’t think he would hurt bud. He doesn't seem dangerous anyway. I think he just wants to help Bud.
If you saw someone with a box that said it had human blood in it, would you think they were a vampire?
Yes I most definitely would why else would they have it?
DeleteNo, I'd probably get scared though.
DeletePayton Mcwhorter Mrs.Holley P27 prediction
ReplyDelete“OK Bud you ran away from home, where is that...I ran away from Grand Rapids, sir.”
Looks like he is getting a ride there. I mean this dude seems to be a really nice man. So i'm pretty sure that he would want to return him to who he at least thought that his parents were. He seems nice because he did give him food and why would he ask what he was doing there and were he ran away from if he wasn't going to return him to who he ran away from.
What would you do in a situation like this?
P27 Holley, Ventura-Reyes, Nalani (Interpreting/Asking a Question)
ReplyDelete“I couldn’t believe it, it'd happened again! I’d spent the whole day reading. Her words snapped a spell that was on me, and my stomach started growling right away…"
Bud had accidentally been reading the book the librarian gave him about WWll all day. He did not eat lunch or dinner so he had to go eat. How could someone be so selfish? I can’t believe the lady.
What would you do if you didn't eat all day?
P27 Holley Danna April (Interpreting)
ReplyDelete“Then he made his first mistake, he let go of my arm. I slid into the car and he closed the door behind me. Quick as anything I locked the door and crawled over to the driver's side of the car and pulled that door closed and locked it just as the vampire reached for the handle to get in.”
Bud is really fast at thinking of a plan, or he thought of this a while ago just when the man grabbed his arm and put him in the car. The man seemed sweet and funny. It could be his dad, since this takes place in the Great Depression, his dad couldn’t have moved from his mom too far. It’d cost too much gas.
Would you travel across a state to find someone who may just be a stranger?

ReplyDelete“I pulled the gear level down and the car took off with the vampire running as hard as he could to catch me” (Curtis 107).
My grandpa told me that when he was my age, he watched a super scary vampire movie. He said he had nightmares about it. Obviously vampires were a common fear back then for children. This describes what time period the story takes place.
