  1. Payton Mcwhorter Mrs.Holley P27 Prediction

“...cause even though a monster had gone and snucked his self into the story, I didn't care, nothing could hurt me now.”

Something is going to hurt him. Also he might be a little insane if he had a werewolf in the story the little red hen. So he might wake up in the middle of the road. I mean come on how bout we be honest we should all know that things don't seem to be going his way right now.

what do you think will happen to him as he sleeps?

I think he will be fine when he sleeps because Bud said nothing could hurt him.

  2. P27 Holley Danna April (Interpreting)

“No, Bud, I don’t think you have to worry about that, she’s gone.”
That must’ve been really hard for her to handle. Maybe she won’t be looking into adopting Bud, because she is probably still sad about her child's death. Maybe, she will be the type to get a new kid, so she can move on. If she does, Bud is back with his real father I think.

Would you try to move on if you lost someone special to you?

Yes, I would try to move on and be happy.

  4. P27 Mrs.Holley Floyd, Nevaeh (Interpreting/ Asking a Question)

“I was smiling and laughing and busting my gut so much that I got carried away and some rusty old valve squeaked open in me then… woop, zoop, sloop… tears started jumping out of my eyes so hard that I had to cover my face with the big red and white napkin that was on the table.”(Curtis 172-173 ) -Theme

The theme of this quote is that sometimes people can hide things that are open for the world to see. Sometimes those things are embarrassing. Apparently, Bud has opened up to crying again. This seems to be very true since he was laughing, then randomly started crying. He has probably found his place in the world and is very happy. I wonder why Bud has now accepted crying to his agenda that day if he doesn’t cry anymore. “I felt Miss Thomas’s hand come up under the napkin and rub real soft and slow back and forth over my head.”(Curtis 173) (Interpreting/ Asking a Question)

-Would you just cry in a public place or would hold in the tears and wait until you're in a place by yourself where no one can see you?

  5. P46 Mrs. Holley Burgess, Grey Main Idea

“She said, ‘Where is [your father] honey?’ I pointed dead at Herman E. Calloway’s big belly again and said, ‘That’s him right there” (Curtis 165)

This quote shows another main idea. Bud was looking for his father. He thinks that his dad is Herman E. Calloway. I think this is a second main idea.
    (Main Idea)

If you had the clues that Bud had, would you still think that Herman E. Calloway was your father?
