ReplyDelete“Luke… you're talking about our parents” i said he laughed “and that's supposed to make me love them? They're precious little Western civilization is a disease Percy”
I wonder if luke is following the same master ares was to destroy western civilization. I don't get why people would do that though. Kronos is the biggest baddest titan in the world in this universe all he would do is destroy the world and turn it to ashes just to laugh at the gods
do you people agree with me... why would people team with Kronos
I think the fact that Kronos has so much power is the biggest reason people would support him. Throughout history people have a tendency to do that even when they don’t agree with someone’s tactics. What is the reason for this?

How would the sun be a blessing. It alows the Germans to spot you.It makes you very apparent. You are also super defenseless to them sense you are on the life raft.Good luck surviving.
If you were in the sun, would you think it was a blessing if you are in the middle of the sea being hunted by the Germans and their U-boats?
yes it is a blessing because be in the dark sharks swimming around looking for food

I remember living in a house in the states where there was a lot of fields I lived next to a big field that was so green that it would be impossible to find a green ball.
I might panic if it is something really important or if I’m on a time frame and I know I really need the item, but I agree that taking a deep breath and retracing my steps is a good strategy to help me find what I’m looking for.

ReplyDelete“It was nearly midnight when Josh’s headlights appeared on the dugway…” (Hobbs 189)
Why does Josh come at midnight? That is kind of a weird time to come. Lon said Josh would come in the morning, not the middle of the night. Maybe he thought that he would just wait until they woke up, or he thought something bad was happening so he came early.
Why do you think Josh came early?
I think you’ve made some great predictions.

Would you be disappointed if you were Josh?

ReplyDelete"Charlotte" he said with the utmost solemnity, " I did not kill Mr. Hollybrass." (175)
This quote made me pause and think. I wonder who killed Mr. Hollybrass? I think Captin Jaggery killed Mr. Hollybrass because he hates Charlotte. He could've taken the dirk from her cabin and put the handkerchief in Hollybrass's hand. That means he framed her!
Do you think Captin Jaggery killed Hollybrass?
Your prediction sounds just like that rotten Jaggery. I wouldn’t put it past him to do anything! He is a scoundrel!

When my dad and I lived in Weiden,Germany, I saved my money when I was a small boy in my room under my bed. When I have enough money I bought some candy and some of my favorite foods from the store. My dad was happy when I showed that I wanted to help buy food too.

ReplyDelete“‘...the captain turned toward me. At first he didn’t recognize me… ‘What did he do?’ ‘Nothing. Just stared in a wild sort of way.””
Zachariah faked his death, and was explaining to Charlotte what happened when he went on deck. If captain Jaggery thinks Zachariah is dead, and he sees Zachariah with his own eyes, why didn’t he do anything? After reading all about captain Jaggery so far, I would expect him to yell at Zachariah. Run to him and punish him. Or worse kill him.
Alphonso what is your question?
DeleteI agree. Jaggery is not a very nice man. Isn’t it interesting that he’s described as being so proper but has an evil heart while the sailors are described evil and have a kind heart? What do you think is a theme in this novel based on this characterization?

Later in the text: “...I read upon the stone of the neglected grave of my own name…” (Levithan 136).
I predict that that the person who died was Ben. Fred was very sad and Fred was Ben’s closest friend. During the story Fred has been shown that he was a great friend as it says in the quote. I predict that Fred right now is getting ready for the funeral also. As it says later in the text that Ben was the one dead.

I guess I would never go to high school. I don't want to die!

“But what about me? Feniul sounded close to tears. What if something happens to you? I promised Sardas that I would keep you safe...I know Shardas will be proud when he hears about all you’ve done. But for now, I need you to go back to the Mordrel estate. Keep an eye on things there, and follow the Duke’s orders. All right?...All right…”
I chose this quote because it was confusing to me. Apparently Feniul agreed really fast to what Creel told him to do. I don’t get this because how would someone, or in this case a dragon, be convinced that easily when he really cares about what is going on and her not getting hurt. I wonder if a dragon could agree that easily. Maybe it is because the dragon trust Creel a lot and will listen to her.

This quote does not consider mermaids from different cultures. In my experience I have read the book or seen the movies that have mermaids with different hair color. The mermaid in the movie My Little Mermaid had red hair. I do not think this description is accurate of mermaids today.

The stiff body of Umberto had been squashed into the coffin on top of them and he lay there with a bruised and livid face and staring eyes.” (Mary Hoffman 251)
It makes no sense how the Brothers even bothered to not look inside of the casket to see what was making it so heavy. Yes I understand that they are religious brothers and that, that was a religious meaning to them (the casket was “full of sin”) but there could have been something in there, and there was something in the casket, a body.
Why do you think the priest thought the casket was full of sin?
I think this is a metaphor describing the person in the casket or the deed that lead to the person being in the casket. Does this make sense based on what you’ve been reading? Why or why not?
